The Tibetan Bon practices of Dream Yoga.

Teachings from the Bön Mother Tantra

With Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche

Who does not wonder what wisdoms dreams hold? And what of the mysteries of the passage between lives? Tibetan teachings from the sacred Mother Tantra tell us that both of these visionary experiences hold much in common, and each offers us many opportunities for growth, transformation, and even enlightenment. Tenzin Wanygal Rinpoche will explain how these two magical experiences relate to one another and how they can benefit and enrich our everyday lives.

We will learn the ways of working with various types of dreams, from peaceful to terrifying, along with the methods for cultivation of lucid dreams. Once lucid, one can transform dreams to great benefit, experiencing and accomplishing things beyond our reach during our daily life. And as we become more lucid at night, our awareness during the day is also transformed, leading us to live vividly and effortlessly. This same awareness can be carried into and through the time of the passing of our physical body, providing a radically refreshing alternative to our culture’s usual experience of this great transition and opportunity.

These rare and precious teachings will be transmitted by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, who was blessed to receive these from his master Yongdzing Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche, the most senior teacher of the Tibetan Bön Buddhist tradition. Tenzin Rinpoche has had remarkable lucid dream experiences from a very early age and continues to use Dream Yoga as one of his principle practices. This lead to his writing of The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep, published by Snow Lion Publications, which describes the practices in beautiful detail. Please join us for this marvelous opportunity.

It is said that the practice of dream yoga deepens our awareness during all our experience: the dreams of the night; the dream-like experience of the day; and the bardo experiences after death. Indeed, the practice of dream yoga is a powerful tool of awakening, used for hundreds of years by the great masters of the Tibetan traditions. Unlike in the Western psychological approach to dreams, the ultimate goal of Tibetan dream yoga is the recognition of the nature of mind or enlightenment itself.

This 2 day dream yoga seminar is designed for those just beginning the practice as well as experienced practitioners wishing to deepen their practice of dream yoga. Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche will discuss the relationships between dream and waking, and dream and death.
